The Barnabas Group Minnesota Meeting
Tuesday, March 14, 2017
Dinner available at 5:00 PM
Program 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM
Colonial Church – Edina (6200 Colonial Way, Edina, MN 55436)
The meeting was on Tuesday, March 14 at Colonial Church - we helped two ministries who are serving "in" the world, while staying focused on serving God and accomplishing His perfect will for their lives.
We'll start the evening with insights on our theme for this year, "Risky Faith" from Sam Smith of the Prouty Project. Then we'll hear from our two presenting ministries before getting the chance to brainstorm ways to address their challenges.
Exodus Lending is dedicated solely to helping Minnesotans break the cycle of payday lending debt. In 2012, a payday lender opened shop on the same block as Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, in South Minneapolis. Congregants became alarmed and wanted to act. After much thought, debate and prayer, Exodus Lending was born and began doing its work in the spring of 2015.
Our second presenter is a ministry we're not able to name publicly because of the unique nature of their work. The ministry harnesses the power of business as an opportunity for discipleship and economic empowerment for single mothers within a local immigrant community.
After our meeting, you'll have the opportunity to join a "deeper dive" with each ministry where we move from brainstorming to taking action.
We hope you can join us and put your talents, experience and connections to work for the Kingdom.
